Police on 'high alert' for clash between Liverpool, Manchester United at Anfield

Police are reportedly on high alert as a number of Manchester United fans have come to the end of their football banning orders prior to Sunday's Liverpool clash.

Merseyside police are reportedly on high alert for this Sunday's Premier League clash between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield.

The authorities are said to be confident of dealing with any potential issues, but concerns have been raised after a number of United fans recently came to the end of their football banning orders.

According to the Daily Mail, around six United 'hooligans' are now legally free to attend the match at Anfield, which could prove to be vital in the race for the top four.

United, who are expected to take around 3,000 supporters to the game, currently reside fourth in the Premier League table, two points above Liverpool.
