A number of Premier League clubs have reportedly been left feeling angry at the campaign trying to make players wear rainbow laces on their boots in a bid to stamp out homophobia in the game.
Gay rights charity Stonewall and bookmakers Paddy Power have sent out the coloured laces to all top flight and Football League outfits, as well as clubs in Scotland.
It is understood that Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are among those planning to boycott the campaign due to not being consulted over the initiative in the first place, according to the Daily Mail.
Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton has been vocal in his support of the campaign, while Everton, who are an official partner of Paddy Power, will have their players wearing the laces this weekend.
