Manchester United staff 'use garlic spray to rid Old Trafford of worms'

Manchester United's ground staff reportedly use garlic spray in order to rid Old Trafford of a worm infestation.

Manchester United's ground staff have reportedly turned to garlic spray in a bid to battle a worm infestation at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are believed to be eager to have the problem solved before this Sunday's Premier League clash against Queens Park Rangers.

According to the Daily Star, the pitch's loose sand base has an infestation of roundworms, which has caused staff to use liquid garlic spray because there is no legal pesticide to get rid of them.

United are yet to win a competitive match under manager Louis van Gaal.
