Usain Bolt responds to Sir Alex Ferguson's remarks about him featuring for Manchester United in a charity match next summer.

Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt has suggested that he would accept an invitation from Sir Alex Ferguson to feature in a charity match for Manchester United.

The 100m and 200m world record holder has been vocal about his desire to play for the Red Devils, leading Ferguson to hint that he could be in line for a cameo appearance in a friendly match next summer.

After securing three gold medals at the 2012 London Olympics, Bolt has said that his training regime may be more flexible and allow him to participate in such events.

"I heard Sir Alex Ferguson's proposal. I'm open to everything," said Bolt, who was recently invited to address a conference at the Vatican City.

"The Olympic Games are behind me, they went well, which takes off a lot of pressure. So in 2013, I could take a few more risks. Charity football matches, why not?"

Bolt and training partner Yohan Blake have also expressed an interest in playing Twenty20 cricket in Australia's Big Bash competition.
