Video: Steven Gerrard refuses to sign LA Galaxy shirt during Anfield farewell

Steven Gerrard refuses to sign an LA Galaxy shirt after playing his final Liverpool game at Anfield.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard refused to sign a Los Angeles Galaxy shirt for a fan during his Anfield farewell on Saturday.

The 34-year-old midfielder will join the MLS side in July on an 18-month deal after calling an end to his 17-year Liverpool career next weekend.

On Saturday, after Gerrard's final game at Anfield, which ended in a 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace, the midfielder walked around the pitch to bid farewell to the supporters.

While approaching a section of fans to sign memorabilia, one supporter asked Gerrard to put his autograph on an LA Galaxy shirt, but the ex-England captain replied: "I'm not signing LA Galaxy tops until I'm there."

Twitter user @WadeMuscart posted a video of the exchange on social media.
