Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was joined by a host of former Reds players for the club's annual charity dinner.

The event, which took place in Anfield's trophy room last week, consisted of a three-course meal for the likes of Robbie Fowler, John Aldridge and Steve McManaman, which was then followed by a raffle and an auction, with the proceeds going to charity.

"I came here for the Liverpool experience, to meet the people and hear all the stories," said Rodgers. "I came because of the football club as a whole but also I'm Irish and the people in this part of the world, we are all from the same bottle really.

"I have really settled in. I have moved out to Formby with my family and they have loved every minute of being here. It's a huge privilege to be here. I'm just going to give it my life every single day and hopefully we can keep the club moving forward."

Jason McAteer, Phil Neal and David Fairclough were also among the former players in attendance.
