An Oldham Athletic fan is reportedly stabbed five times after watching his side lose to Liverpool at Anfield in the FA Cup on Sunday.

An Oldham Athletic supporter was reportedly stabbed after his side's defeat to Liverpool at Anfield in the FA Cup third round on Sunday.

Merseyside Police have confirmed that a 35-year-old man was treated by medics in the Anfield area following the incident, which occurred after fans left the stadium at around 5pm.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the wife of victim Mark Gregory revealed in a post on Facebook that he was stabbed four times on his backside and once at the top of his leg.

It has been reported that the Oldham fan, who watched his side lose 2-0 to the Reds, has refused to speak to detectives.
