Former world number one tennis player Roger Federer will be in the stands for tomorrow's Europa League semi-final first leg between Basel and Chelsea.

The 31-year-old will be supporting his boyhood Swiss club at the St. Jakob Park with the hope that Basel can take a good result heading into the second leg at Stamford Bridge.

"We are looking forward like little kids to this game," Federer told Swiss newspaper Basler Zeitung.

"In the end it will be 2-1 for FC Basle and all will have experienced an unforgettable evening."

The 16-time Grand Slam champion, who is currently on a seven-week break, also revealed that he would "love" to play for the club in the future.
