Report: Fooball Association apologises for anti-IRA chants

The Football Association is said to have apologised following anti-IRA chanting inside Celtic Park last night during England's friendly against Scotland.

The Football Association reportedly had to ask England's travelling supporters' band to stop playing during last night's friendly victory over Scotland.

The band played Follow England Away, which inadvertently provided background music to ant-IRA chanting in certain sections of Celtic Park.

Following the game Three Lions manager Roy Hodgson said that he "didn't have a clue what they were chanting," although BBC Sport claims that an apology was later issued.

No complaints were lodged to Police Scotland in the immediate aftermath of the match.
