Mike Tyson wants to prove acting skills in William Shakespeare role

Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson admits that he wants to act in a William Shakespeare play.

Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson has revealed that he wants to perform in a William Shakespeare play.

The 48-year-old, whose one-man show Undisputed Truth was released last year, made cameo appearances in Hollywood movie The Hangover.

"That was such a great experience," the Daily Star quotes Tyson as saying. "I absolutely want to do Shakespeare. Could you imagine me in Othello?

"I was just talking to somebody and he quoted, 'first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers'. And we laughed and then he said that came from Shakespeare's Henry VI.

"Shakespeare said that. He had such powerful insights. I don't know which exact role I would want, but I know it would be challenging to do Othello."

Despite his love of Shakespeare, the retired sportsman has claimed that he would prefer to be on camera as opposed to on stage.
