Chelsea defender Kurt Happy Zouma has revealed that his parents named him after an action hero played by Jean-Claude Van Damme.
The 19-year-old came under the spotlight this week after scoring on his debut in the Blues' 2-1 victory over Bolton Wanderers in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday night.
After netting his first goal for the Premier League giants, Zouma revealed that his name was chosen because of the lead character Kurt Sloane in the 1989 film Kickboxer.
"In the film, he helps everyone and is super strong," Zouma told the club's official website. "So my parents decided that if they gave me that name I'd be hard and always have a smile. Apparently it worked!"
The teenager signed for Chelsea from Saint-Etienne in January this year.
