Chelsea legend Frank Lampard to receive OBE at Buckingham Palace

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard will receive an OBE from Prince William at Buckingham Palace today.

Former Chelsea star Frank Lampard will receive an OBE from the Duke of Cambridge at Buckingham Palace today for his services to football.

The 37-year-old left the Premier League giants last year before joining Manchester City on a season-long loan.

In January, Lampard joined up with newly-formed MLS franchise New York City FC, who have failed to reach the playoffs in the Eastern Conference this season.

Lampard, who was Chelsea's all-time leading scorer with 211 goals before he left Stamford Bridge, will receive the award from Prince William in London today.

The midfielder, who began his career at West Ham United, has earned 106 England caps.
