Marc Marquez takes pole at Argentina MotoGP

Marc Marquez claims pole position at the Argentina MotoGP, with Britain's Cal Crutchlow to start in fourth.

Marc Marquez has claimed pole position at the Argentina MotoGP.

The Spaniard dominated qualifying, setting a time of 1:37.802 to claim his 24th career pole position from 39 races.

He was half a second quicker than closest rival Aleix Esparago, with third-placed Andrea Iannone a further 10th of a second back.

Britain's Cal Crutchlow will start in fourth, with Bradley Smith and Scott Redding starting in 10th and 11th respectively.

Marquez won the previous MotoGP in Austin, Texas.

Valentino Rossi currently leads the MotoGP standings with 41 points, one point ahead of Andrea Dovizioso and five ahead of Marquez.
