Jorge Lorenzo has won his third MotoGP in a row to close the gap on championship leader Valentino Rossi.
Andrea Iannone finished second from pole position, while Rossi completed the podium in third.
The result leaves Lorenzo just six points behind Rossi in the standings, and his dominant form was evident from the start in Italy. He took the lead in the opening lap and stayed there throughout, posting lap times that were at times more than a second faster than his nearest challenger.
Reigning world champion Marc Marquez crashed with six laps remaining while Britain's Cal Crutchlow was fifth until he crashed with three laps left.
