Czech Republic's David Svoboda has won gold in the men's modern pentathlon this evening.
Svoboda led the event going into the combined running/shooting discipline and just had to finish ahead of China's Zhongrong Cao, who entered the discipline in second place.
Svoboda managed this, finishing the final event in sixth place, three ahead of silver medallist Cao. Russia's Aleksander Lesun went into the event in third place overall, but could only manage 25th, allowing Hungary's Adam Marosi to claim the bronze.
Meanwhile, Team GB entered the combined discipline with an outside chance of a medal, but duo Nick Woodbridge and Sam Weale could only finish 10th and 13th respectively.
