England's Stuart Airey: 'I'm coming good at the right time'

Stuart Airey admits that the disappointment of losing in the quarter-finals of the men's lawn bowls triples will push him to glory in the men's fours at Glasgow 2014.

England's Stuart Airey has admitted that he will use the disappointment of missing out on a lawn bowls medal in the men's triples to help guide him through tomorrow's men's fours quarter-final.

Airey was a part of the triples side that lost at the same stage of the Commonwealth Games competition earlier this week, but says that he is hitting form at the right time.

"I felt that was my best performance of the week, which is pleasing and hopefully," the 2006 World Indoor champion told reporters after today's 12-12 draw with Northern Ireland.

"I'm coming good at the right time – if I can keep it up. I was part of the team which was beaten on the last bowl in the triples quarter finals so that was disappointing but we hope to make up for it in the fours."

There was bad news for England in the men's triples Para-sport earlier today as Robert Love, David Fisher and Paul Brown came up short in their bid to make the final.
