Henry Weir believes that England were unfortunate to lose 4-1 against Australia in today's men's hockey semi-finals at the Commonwealth Games.

Australia raced into a two-goal lead with 11 minutes on the clock at the National Hockey Centre, and although England managed to pull one back on 51 minutes, the reigning world champions added another couple of strikes late on.
"I think 4-1 flattered them a little bit, we are definitely not that far off them," Weir told reporters. "We conceded a few goals early on but other than that we stuck to the game plan well, we knew we would get chances towards the end and unfortunately we didn't get that second one.
"We had to push in the last 20 minutes and that went against us. I think on another day we might have got that equalizer, they play a style of hockey not many teams do but we stuck with them."
England will contest tomorrow's bronze-medal final against either New Zealand or India.
