Kristian Thomas takes silver for England in vault final

England gymnast Kristian Thomas cannot prevent Canada's Scott Morgan from winning his third medal of the Commonwealth Games, but does win silver in the men's vault.

Kristian Thomas has continued England's gymnastics success at the Commonwealth Games by claiming silver in the men's vault final.

The Birmingham-born athlete scored 14.499 but was well beaten by Scott Morgan's 14.733 for Canada, with Singapore's Wah Toon Hoe completing the podium.

It is the second medal of the Games for Thomas, who was an integral part of the England group that won the men's team event, but his haul is eclipsed by Morgan's.

The Canadian adds to his rings title and the silver medal that he won on the floor.

Scotland's Frank Baines finished fifth, with teammate Adam Cox seventh.
