Max Whitlock wins gymnastics gold for England

England win gold and bronze in the men's all-round gymnastics courtesy of strong displays from Max Whitlock and Nile Wilson, while Scotland take silver.

Max Whitlock has capped a fine display from England's gymnasts by taking gold in the men's all-round final at the Commonwealth Games.

The 21-year-old was in a strong position going into his final routine, but instead of scaling back the difficulty he delivered another strong performance to take gold with a combined score of 90.631.

Nile Wilson, who was left out of Great Britain's Olympic squad two years ago, took bronze with his score of 87.965, while silver went to Scotland's Daniel Keatings.

Whitlock also won two bronze medals at London 2012.
