Max Whitlock not fussed about missing out on every individual final

English gymnast Max Whitlock insists that he is not fussed about just missing out qualification for all six individual apparatus finals at the Commonwealth Games.

Commonwealth Games gold medallist Max Whitlock has insisted that it does not bother him that he just missed out on qualifying for every individual gymnastics final in Glasgow.

The 21-year-old was England's star as they surged to the team gold medal for the first time since 2002.

Whitlock scored more than 90 points over the six artistic disciplines for the first time in his career and is now the clear favourite for the individual all-around final, which takes place tomorrow.

He has also qualified for five of the six individual apparatus finals, just missing out on the horizontal bar final as Kristian Thomas and Nile Wilson registered the two best scores and only two gymnasts from each nation can qualify for the eight-man final.

When asked if he was disappointed not to qualify for every apparatus final, Whitlock told Sports Mole: "No not at all. Kristian and Nile have got through and they're amazingly talented high-bar workers. Hopefully they can do great things.

"I've done exactly what I wanted to do here, hopefully I can continue it in the next few days."

Whitlock's all-around score of 90.365 was almost four points better than that of teenage teammate Wilson, who was the other Englishman to qualify for the individual all-around final.
