Davis Love III admits that the pain of the last-gasp loss to Europe in the Ryder Cup will never go away.

Davis Love III has admitted that the thought of throwing away a four-point lead on the final day to lose the Ryder Cup will never go away.

Love is back playing again in the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas.

The 48-year-old has claimed that being back on the course helps distract him from the events last week, but does admit that he is still "second-guessing" himself when he thinks about the dramatic loss to Europe.

"It's good to get back to playing," said Love. "It distracts me for four, five hours a day from thinking about last week.

"I've got a lot of great memories from last week, and when I get by myself I start second-guessing and start wishing that we would have done something a little different and could've got those guys a win.

"I don't think it'll ever go away. You can't take away from a great week, but winning is what it's all about and we didn't win it."

USA surrendered a 10-6 lead on the final day at the Medinah Country Club to Jose Maria Olazabal's men in the singles.
