At the turn: Donald/Garcia all square Mickelson/Bradley

It remains all square between the European team of Luke Donald and Sergio Garcia and the US team of Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley.

Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley have pegged Luke Donald and Sergio Garcia back to all square after nine holes of their Ryder Cup foursomes clash.

The Americans drew first blood in the day's second match, taking the lead on the second hole when Garcia had struck an iron well past the green.

Donald nearly sank a snaking long-range putt at the fifth hole for an eagle, but it circled the perimeter of the hole before spewing out.

Mickelson had the chance to halve the hole with a 15-footer, but sent it wide and Europe were back on level terms regardless.

Donald then sunk a tough putt on the next hole to turn the match on its head.

Garcia found the green on the ninth hole, but had left Donald with a tricky put from around 15 feet. Once again, Donald was denied by the rim of the hole.

Meanwhile, Mickelson had dialled in a superb wedge shot that left Bradley with a five-foot putt to win the hole. He duly sank it and that match is all square.
