Rory McIlroy maintains lead in Dubai

World number six Rory McIlroy holds a one-shot advantage at the halfway stage of the Dubai Desert Classic.

Rory McIlroy has maintained his lead at the top of the leaderboard after day two of the Dubai Desert Classic.

The world number six recorded a round of 63 on Thursday, and although he never came near to repeating that feat during the second day's play, a score of 70 was enough to keep him ahead of the chasing pack.

American Brooks Koepka has moved into second position after a seven-under-par round of 65, while Danny Willett, Damien McGrane and Julien Quesne share third place.

Henrik Stenson has moved up 29 places into a share of sixth, but Tiger Woods remains well down the field in 44th position after firing a round of one-over-par on Friday.
