Tiger Woods has said that Rory McIlroy must think more about his actions after the world number one walked off the course for the first time in his career yesterday.

McIlroy was seven-over through eight holes when he withdrew from the Honda Classic. He has since said that wisdom tooth pain was the reason for his withdrawal.

Fourteen-time major winner Woods, who is level par after two rounds in Florida, has said that McIlroy's actions could "get out of hand".

"He's just got to be more - just got to think about it a little bit more before you say something or do something," said Woods.

"It can get out of hand, especially when you get into social media and start tweeting and all those different things that can go wrong."

Woods said that it is even harder to act on impulse these days because of the fast-paced nature of the media.

"Things are instantaneous around the world. We were still in fax machines, things were a little bit slower," he added.

American rookie Luke Guthrie leads the tournament by one shot from Michael Thompson.
