Ian Poulter: 'Faldo was misquoted'

Nick Faldo tells Ian Poulter that he was misquoted regarding alleged comments about his work ethic.

Ian Poulter has said that there is no problem between him and Nick Faldo regarding the former Ryder Cup captain's alleged comments about his work ethic.

It was reported in the Daily Mail that the six-time Major champion told Poluter to spend less time on social media site Twitter and more time working on his game.

Faldo was also thought to have said that Poulter had too much going on in his personal life that was distracting him from golf.

However, Poulter has now said that he has spoken to Faldo, who claims he was misquoted.

Posting on Twitter, the 36-year-old said: "Don't panic complete false alarm I spoke to Faldo last night and he was totally misquoted, as per normal the papers can write what they like."

The Englishman reacted furiously on Twitter to a similar critique from Sky Sports pundit Bruce Critchley following his first-round exit in the Accenture Match Play Championship.
