The Northern Irishman holed three bogeys and a double bogey on the eighth to put him nine shots off the pace with a one-over-par 73.

American DA Points leads the field by one shot thanks to a eight-under round of 64.

Two more Americans, Cameron Tringale and John Rollins, are both on seven-under.

England's Brian Davis will start Friday on five-under, while fellow countryman Lee Westwood carded a four-under 68 following a round that included seven birdies and three bogeys.
