Former world number one Rory McIlroy has insisted that he does not want to make any excuses for his form this season.
The Northern Irishman has dropped from the top ranking to sixth in the world after switching his clubs from Titleist to Nike in a multi-million pound deal.
The 24-year-old has also been plagued by off-course issues, including a legal battle with his management, who have been accused of taking £4.7m from the golfer in commissions.
"I have spent countless hours with lawyers and it has been something I don't feel I should have had to deal with," McIlroy told BBC Radio Five Live.
"I'm not saying a huge detriment to my game but it has been something that has filled my head when it shouldn't be there.
"I'm not making excuses because my game hasn't been good enough to win this year, I accept that and take responsibility for that."
McIlroy managed to edge into the European Tour's top 60.
