Simon Dyson shares the lead at the KLM Open with German Marcel Siem after an awkward first day.

The start of the tournament was delayed by 45 minutes because of vandalism on four of the greens and then play was suspended later in the day because of torrential rain.

Many players were unable to complete their first rounds because of saturation all over the course.

Yorkshireman Dyson fired five birdies and an eagle on his way to a five-under 65.

"That's probably the wettest course I've ever played but this tournament is always good to me," said Dyson, who has won the Hilversum tournament twice.

Defending champion Martin Kaymer had a day to forget, carding a four-over 74.
