German Martin Kaymer is confident of retaining his Dutch Open crown at Hilversum this weekend.

German Martin Kaymer has said that he is confident of defending his KLM Open crown at Hilversum this week.

The world number three has been without a win for seven months, coming close at the European Masters last week before being edged out by Thomas Bjorn.

"It definitely feels like I will win again in the next couple of weeks," said the 26-year-old.

"I'm hitting the ball very well. I like the golf course and I can drive there from home - it's only two hours away and it's nice to have your own car."

There is a strong field at the KLM this year with three of the world's top four appearing as Kaymer is joined by Lee Westwood and Rory McIlroy, second and fourth respectively.

The start of the tournament was delayed by 45 minutes on Thursday morning because of vandalism on four of the holes.
