Australian Baddeley hit a round of 64, while American Mahan's score of 66 put both players on nine-under-par.

As it stands, Mahan tops the FedEx Cup standings and is in line for the $10m (£6.4m) top prize.

Jason Day and KJ Choi are both on seven-under, while England's Luke Donald takes a share of third with Bill Haas on six-under.

Donald had previously posted two strong rounds, and he is still in with a chance of winning the richest prize in sport.
