Jason Day: 'Winning Masters is a life goal'

Jason Day reveals that he has been "gearing" his golf game to winning The Masters since he was 12 years old.

World number five Jason Day has admitted that winning The Masters is something that he has been targeting since he was 12 years old.

The Australian came close to glory at Augusta National on his debut in 2011, but ended up finishing second to Charl Schwartzel.

Two years later, Day relinquished a two-stroke lead with three holes to play and Adam Scott eventually took home the green jacket with a playoff win.

"Everyone has different goals in life," Day told reporters. "Everyone has different things they want to try and achieve.

"We've been gearing my golf game ever since I was 12, 13 - to try and attack this golf tournament, building my game toward winning this tournament. Whatever I win after, that would be a bonus."

Rory McIlroy is favourite to win the title, in the only Major that he is yet to add to his list of achievements.
