Tiger Woods feels he's in 'good shape to compete at Masters'

Tiger Woods reveals that he is in good shape to "to win a golf tournament" ahead of this week's Masters at Augusta.

Tiger Woods believes that he is in a good position to compete for victory at The Masters this week.

The 39-year-old, who has dropped to 111th in the world, spent two months away from the sport due to back problems, but announced on Friday that he will be in the field at Augusta National.

On Monday evening, Woods played 11 practice holes on the Georgia course and believes that he is in good shape to challenge for the Major title.

"It's progression," The Mirror quotes Woods as saying. "I felt like I had to get my game into a spot where I could compete to win a golf tournament and it's finally there."

Rory McIlroy, who has won every Major bar The Masters, is favourite to take the crown this weekend.
