US Open champion Justin Rose has said that he can make it back-to-back Major titles if he produces his best golf in the Open Championship at Muirfield next week.
The 32-year-old scooped his first Major at Merion last month, beating Phil Mickelson by two shots.
Rose believes that his triumph in Pennsylvania will be of help to him should he be in with a shout of victory on the back nine on Sunday.
"If I go out there and put everything together, there are not many players who can beat me," Rose told BBC Sport.
"The great thing is, having won the US Open, if I find myself coming down the final stretch that's when I think it will pay off.
"On Thursday morning, there's a lot of work ahead of me and it probably doesn't mean much but if I get that sniff, if I get that chance, hopefully that's when I'll be able to draw on those positive experiences."
Bobby Jones, Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Lee Trevino, Tom Watson and Tiger Woods are the only men to have won the US Open and the Open Championship in succession.
