Reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel has finally broken his silence and admitted that he put himself ahead of Red Bull during the Malaysian Grand Prix in March.
The German caused controversy on his way to victory in Sepang after neglecting team orders and proceeding to attack and overtake his race-leading teammate Mark Webber in order to gain the win.
Despite admitting that he was in the wrong, Vettel refuses to apologise for the incident.
"Obviously what stuck to [people's] heads is the way the race ended, but I think as I said there's not much more to add than what happened," Vettel told Sky Sports News.
"I told the team straight after, I apologised for putting myself above the team, which I didn't mean to do, but there's not much more to say really.
"I don't apologise for winning - I think that's why people employed me in the first place and why I'm here. I love racing and that's what I did."
The Formula 1 season resumes with the Chinese Grand Prix this Sunday.
