Bernie Ecclestone hints at return of French Grand Prix

Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone says that the French Grand Prix could be included in the calendar in 2013, but admits that fundings need to be arranged for it.

Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone has revealed that the French Grand Prix could return to the race calendar next year.

It would replace the Grand Prix of America that has been postponed until 2014 due to financial problems.

The two circuits that could be used for the French GP are Le Castellet and Magny-Cours.

"We are ready to sign a contract," he is quoted as saying by the BBC.

"Which circuit they are going to use is one thing... Who is going to pay for it, that's the bottom line.

"If they are ready, we can slot it in the calendar."

The French GP was last held in 2008.
