Bernie Ecclestone confirms Grand Prix of America put back to 2014

Bernie Ecclestone announces that next year's inaugural Grand Prix of America will be put back to 2014 due to a lack of preparations.

Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone has confirmed that the inaugural Grand Prix of America will not go ahead next year.

The race, which was due to go ahead in New Jersey, has been postponed until 2014 because the organisers will be unable to complete their preparations in time.

"They've run out of time," Ecclestone told Reuters. "There's all sorts of things and they didn't quite think it all through. They've had a wake-up call but the wake-up call came too late."

Meanwhile, F1 drivers will take to the track in the Indian Grand Prix next weekend.
