Lewis Hamilton has spoke of his happiness at topping the drivers' rankings after three rounds of the Formula One world championship.

The McLaren driver finished third in this morning's Chinese Grand Prix to move two points clear of teammate and fellow Englishman Jenson Button.

"It's been a long time since I've led the championship," Hamilton told BBC Sport. "It's a nice feeling."

"I won't take it for granted," added the 27-year-old. "I'm happy to have moved forward. That was the goal, that was the aim.

"I would have loved to have had more points and maybe a win or two, but we're leading the constructors' championship and we're very competitive in the race."

There has been three Grand Prixes so far this year and Hamilton has finished third in every one. He will be looking to improve at next weekend's fourth round in Bahrain.
