Gary Johnson: 'Two mistakes cost us the game'

Gary Johnson admits that two errors cost his Yeovil Town side a share of the points against Leeds United.

Yeovil Town manager Gary Johnson has admitted that goalkeeping errors cost his side against Leeds United.

The Glovers went ahead through Ishmael Miller in the lunchtime kickoff, before a missed penalty from the striker ignited a comeback for the visitors.

Marek Stech's kick out of his hands found its way to Ross McCormack in the windy conditions, and he equalised for Leeds.

Stephen Warnock then fired a free kick home, with the ball flying over Stech's head to leave Yeovil rooted to the foot of the table.

"Marek has been a great goalkeeper over the weeks and years," Johnson told Sky Sports News. "For him I'd put them down as two mistakes. We had only just said in the dressing room not to let that missed penalty affect us.

"We've got to move onto the next game and not try to drag them down too far and hang on in there. The first half was really in our favour and we really should have gone in 2-0 up.

"In the second half it was in their favour and unfortunately we made the mistakes they didn't in the wind."

Yeovil return to league action on Tuesday night when they face fellow strugglers Millwall at Huish Park.
