Kenny Jackett: 'We have transfer targets in mind'

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett says that he has "targets" in mind for the summer transfer window.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett has revealed that he has targets in mind for the summer transfer window as the club aim for a promotion push in 2016-17.

The comments come just days after Jackett admitted that he had "no clear budget" for the summer amid uncertainty surrounding the club's impending sale by owner Steve Morgan.

After missing out on the playoffs on goal difference last term, the loss of key players to injuries and exits has contributed to a disappointing season in which the Midlanders are destined for a mid-table finish.

"The recruitment team have their targets," Jackett told the Express & Star. "But how much money we have to spend, where we need to spend it – which is quite obvious I feel – and what market we're working in still has to be decided.

"In terms of the future, and the club improving and the team feeling like it's stepping on and improving, the summer is quite obviously a key time.

"With the loan window being [gone from next season] you need to get to, if you can, two players for every position, and then you can perhaps talk about breaking into the top section. I do know what the standards are [in the top six] and what type of players we need to be effective in it."

Wolves could move as high as 10th in the Championship table on Friday night if they win at promotion-chasing Hull City.
