Patrick Cutrone confirms Wolverhampton Wanderers move is imminent

AC Milan striker Patrick Cutrone confirms that he is close to joining Wolverhampton Wanderers after flying to England on Monday to undergo a medical.

The 21-year-old has spent his entire footballing career with Milan and departs having made close to 100 senior appearances.

New boss Marco Giampaolo allowed Cutrone to leave the club's pre-season tour of the United States last weekend, however, having informed the young striker that opportunities will be limited this term.

Cutrone flew to England on Monday and is now expected to put pen to paper on a four-year deal with Wolves after undergoing a medical.

Speaking to the Italian press at Milan Malpensa Airport, the Italy international said: "Reading all the messages from the fans made me emotional. It means that I've done a good thing.

"Am I disappointed? Well you have seen yourselves, I have nothing to say. I am always ready and charged. I wish the best for Milan fans and my teammates.

"My departure from Milan affects me as well but that's life and some decisions are taken. I will look to do my best. Now I only think about integrating well and doing well there.
