Jamie O'Hara: 'I haven't asked for money to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers'

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Jamie O'Hara insists that he hasn't asked for his contract to be paid up at Molineux.

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Jamie O'Hara has insisted that he has never been motivated by money during his time at Molineux.

Chief executive Jez Moxey revealed earlier this week that no player who does not feature in Kenny Jackett's plans will be having their contracts settled before they expire.

O'Hara has featured just twice for Wolves this season and Jackett has no plans to include him during the next campaign, but despite failing to secure a move away from the League One champions, the former Tottenham Hotspur player is adamant that it's not to hold on to his lucrative deal with the club.

The 27-year-old posted a message on Instagram saying: "In light of the recent comments made in the press, I feel that I have to say something because I've never asked to be paid up.

"I'm not motivated by money, I'm motivated by trying to achieve things in my career. I took a 30% wage cut from the Premier League and sacrificed all my appearance money this season in a bid to be involved.

"I've given 100% every time that I've been on the field even when I wasn't fit, so I'm disappointed to have to defend my attitude and commitment."

O'Hara has spent the majority of the year training with the club's Under-21 side.
