Matt Doherty: Wolverhampton Wanderers "good enough" to bounce back

Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Matt Doherty says that his side are "good enough" to get their domestic campaign back on track following a stuttering start.

Matt Doherty has claimed that Wolverhampton Wanderers have exactly what it takes to get their season back on track.

The West Midlands outfit have made a slow start to their campaign, picking up just eight points from the opening 21 on offer.

To make matters worse, Wolves exited the League Cup on Tuesday night when losing 3-0 to Championship rivals Middlesbrough at the Riverside.

Despite struggling to find their form of last season, Doherty is confident that things can only improve once the individual errors are cut out.

"We've not gone through this for a while, we're used to winning games, we went through it once last season when we lost five in a row but we came out of that one and hopefully we can do the same," he is quoted as saying by the Express & Star.

"We're obviously good enough to do it. Every loss is disappointing and this is no different. I know we didn't have our strongest team out but we still thought we could win it.

"It looks pretty bad to lose 3-0, it looks like a heavy loss, but it felt like we were in the game for quite a lot of it. The goals we conceded, they're mistakes throughout the team, missed clearances, and it cost us."

Doherty penned a new three-year deal at Molineux earlier this week to keep him at the club until 2018.
