Kenny Jackett: 'We may need to reach 100 points for promotion'

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett believes that his side might have to reach 100 points to guarantee promotion to the Championship.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett has admitted that his side cannot drop many points if they want to finish in a top-two position at the end of the season.

The Molineux outfit have averaged over two points per game over the course of the campaign, but with the club only sitting in third place, Jackett has insisted that they might require 100 points to guarantee themselves a place in the Championship next year.

The 52-year-old told the Express & Star: "It just shows you how competitive it is – 64 points from the first 30 games and we're not in the top two. It shows you that there is a very good standard at the top of the league and that pace isn't going to stop.

"We can't take our foot off the accelerator. I haven't got a target in mind but through the season, it has been apparent that to finish in the top two, we're going to need to be in the high 90s at least."

Wolves travel to league leaders Brentford on Saturday knowing that victory will see them overtake their hosts in the standings.
