David Edwards apologises for Wolverhampton Wanderers 'capitulation'

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder David Edwards admits that his side "capitulated" during their 4-0 defeat at Brentford on Saturday.

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder David Edwards has admitted that his side must make improvements after falling down the Championship table in recent weeks.

Kenny Jackett's outfit suffered their fourth successive defeat on Saturday when they lost 4-0 at Brentford, and Edwards, who has been at Molineux since 2008, has acknowledged that their recent form hasn't been good enough.

The 28-year-old is quoted by the Express & Star as saying: "We have to make our apologies to the fans. For whatever reason at the moment, it's just not good enough.

"As soon as we conceded the second goal, like against Forest, we just capitulated. We can't do that and for that we are sorry to the fans – it's not a good display for them to see.

"Hopefully they know that we are doing all we can inside to try to put things right. We will be working our socks off this week to make sure we can turn it around and get some confidence from somewhere going into the Bournemouth game on Saturday."

Wolves began November in the top three but they now sit in 12th position in the standings.
