Preview: Woking vs. Bromley - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Tuesday's National League clash between Woking and Bromley, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Woking will be hoping to climb the National League table on Tuesday in order to put pressure on those above and close the gap towards the playoff positions.

They will host Bromley, who currently find themselves in the top seven, but they have two games in hand on all of the clubs above them, as they sit just six points from the top.

Match preview

Woking ended a four-game run without a victory on Saturday when they hosted Altrincham, picking up three points after a five-goal thriller.

The Cardinals had to fight back from behind twice within the game to eventually win it with a 78th-minute strike from Tahvon Campbell, which was a crucial result for them.

However, the squad have failed to keep a clean sheet throughout their previous five fixtures in all competitions, which is something they will want to improve upon in midweek.

Goals were a big part of the games that the two teams had in the league last season, though, with a 2-2 draw and a 4-2 Bromley victory taking place when they previously met.

After two failed attempts to secure a win against their opponents last season, Woking will be keen to set things right on Tuesday and begin to climb further up the league table.

Andy Woodman's squad are enjoying a nine-game unbeaten run at the moment, which is something that they will be hoping to push to double figures on Tuesday.

Bromley have put themselves in a strong position in the league, sitting in the playoffs at the moment, just six points behind Boreham Wood who are the current table-toppers.

With two games in hand, the club could draw level with them if they can win those games, which adds an element of pressure onto each performance until that point.

Woodman's men were unable to get the win at the weekend when they hosted Halifax Town, in what ended up being a goalless draw between the teams.

Team News

Louie Annesley was brought straight into the Woking starting XI at the weekend after he joined the club from Blackburn Rovers on a deal until December and it is likely he will retain his spot in the team.

He may have competition from Joe McNerney, though, as he is now available after serving his suspension, but with the club getting back to winning ways on Saturday, the same starting XI could be used.

With Bromley's impressive form continuing, there may not be too many changes made on Tuesday, although Woodman might have one eye on the upcoming FA Cup tie against Rotherham United, which is up next for the club.

Defensively, things will likely remain settled after keeping a clean sheet against Halifax, with the club attempting to keep that going on Tuesday.

Woking possible starting lineup:
Ross; Lofthouse, Annesley, Casey; Diarra, Champion, Ince, Nwabuokei, Kretzschmar; Campbell, Effiong

Bromley possible starting lineup:
Cousins; Bush, Bingham, Sowunmi, Webster; Coulson, Arthurs, Sablier, Forster; Cheek, Alexander

We say: Woking 1-3 Bromley

Woking have struggled at the back recently, which is something that the team will need to improve upon when they face Bromley, who are in fine form at the moment.

The visitors have the chance to continue progressing up the league table and with the opportunity to potentially end up top of the league with their games in hand, they should have enough reason to fight for all three points on Tuesday.
