Wigan Athletic have signed striker James Vaughan from Sunderland for an undisclosed fee.
The 29-year-old has signed an 18-month deal with the promotion-chasing Latics, who are currently two points clear at the top of League One.
"James brings added experience and firepower to our group and I am excited to work with him," Wigan boss Paul Cook told reporters.
"This time last year, James was amongst the leading goalscorers in this division and I think it speaks volumes of the club that we have been able to bring him here."
Vaughan joined Sunderland last year off the back off a successful season with Bury, but scored just twice in 23 appearances for the Black Cats.
