Barnsley have signed Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Mike Pollitt on a one-month loan deal.
The 41-year-old, who made his last appearance for the Latics in January, is expected to be drafted into the squad for tonight's League Cup tie at home to Southampton.
"Hopefully Mike gets the game time he needs, which will help him keep competition strong in the goalkeeping department when he returns," Wigan manager Owen Coyle told the club's official club website.
"He's the ultimate professional and you wouldn't believe he's 41 when you see him in training, which is testament to how well he looks after himself."
Pollitt penned a one-year extension to his deal at the DW Stadium in June.
