Wigan boss Roberto Martinez admits that his side were 'poor' after their 3-1 defeat at home to Bolton Wanderers.

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has admitted that his side's application was poor after their 3-1 defeat at home to Bolton Wanderers.

Latics midfielder Mohamed Diame cancelled out Nigel Reo-Coker's opener, but further goals from David Ngog and Chris Eagles made sure the points went to the Trotters.

"It was a disappointing performance," he told Sky Sports. "We gave the goals away (too easily) and our attitude and desire in the game (was poor).

"It was disappointing because we are not far away from reaching what I feel would be a very good level of performance.

"We need to work hard and learn from these mistakes."

The results means that Wigan have dropped to 19th place in the Premier League table.
