Roberto Martinez admits pressure

Roberto Martinez concedes that he will be under pressure to perform at Everton next season.

Roberto Martinez has admitted that he will be under pressure to perform at Everton after taking charge of the Toffees on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference, the Spaniard, who spent four years at Wigan Athletic, also praised former boss David Moyes for his "incredible standards".

"There's huge pressure, but I'm extremely proud of that pressure because that means what David Moyes has done at Everton in the last 11 years has set a huge platform for the next manager," said Martinez.

"What he's done is given Everton an identity and incredible standards. All I want to do is be humble enough and hard-working enough to take that magnificent job to a new level."

Wigan were relegated from the Premier League last season.
