Ian Holloway wants Wigan Athletic job

Ian Holloway says that he wants to manage Wigan Athletic following the resignation of Owen Coyle earlier this week.

Ian Holloway has said that he would jump at the chance of becoming the next Wigan Athletic manager.

Owen Coyle left the club earlier this week, and Holloway told BT Sport that the job is one he would relish.

"Am I interested in the Wigan job? Yes, of course I am," said Holloway.

"The way they play, their players, their style of football, I am a big fan. Unfortunately it is not up to me. If it was, I'd give it to me now!

"The question is, are they interested in me?"

Holloway has been out of management since leaving Crystal Palace earlier this season.
